The beginning of this post went something like this…Wow I can’t believe it is New Year’s Eve already and that I am writing my plans for 2017! I am currently sitting in the airport waiting for my flight while writing this. My flight is boarding soon but I have a layover in London (WAHHHH) so I will be writing there too….
But I got stuck in London all night long when my flight was delayed. I missed my flight to America. I did not fly with Delta or Virgin like usual and I regret that decision now. When they told me I was going to have to spend the night in a hotel by the airport because there was no space on any flights left… I wanted to cry. I was so full of anger and all I could think was ‘This is the worst New Year’s and start to a year ever”.
But then in the hotel, I met two other girls in the exact same situation – one was actually scheduled for the same flight as me! I was so happy to not have to spend New Year’s on my own, and I ended up making two new friends. So although it was not the New Year’s I had planned (and I didn’t make it back for the dinner reservations I had with my boyfriend), I still had a great time. It made me think about the year that passed and really focus on the positive, not the negative!
2016 was a year of thought for me. I really have begun to see where I want my life to go.
During 2016 I did some great things, such as a California road trip ( travel guides here & here), started this Blog, saw the Father Ted house (FINALLY) & did a long-overdue road trip with my friends, visited Toronto for the first time, and even hit 10K followers on my Instagram (this made me beyond happy)!
